Phase 3 · Resource Planner

Who is on what, and who is free next week.

One view of every person across every project for the next twelve weeks: load, skills, leave and bench. Book people onto projects, test moves before you make them, and keep everyone under 100%.

What you get

Everything in Resource Planner

Load heatmap

Every person, every week, coloured by load. Over 105% shows amber, the bench shows grey, so problems jump out.

Skill search

Find a free React Native developer with fintech experience for three weeks from the 18th, in one search.

Bench tracking

People with no billable work are listed with their skills and the date they became free, so bench time is short.

What-if moves

Drag a person between projects and see both projects’ forecast dates and margins change before you save.

Pipeline bookings

Hold people softly for deals likely to close. Tentative bookings are shown hatched and do not block others.

Leave and holidays

Approved leave and regional holidays reduce capacity automatically. No more plans that assume people never rest.

Skills and levels

Keep a simple skills matrix with levels. It is updated by managers and visible to the people it describes.

Role-based planning

Plan early projects by role, such as "2 backend, 1 QA", and name the people later.

Team and business unit views

Group by team, location or business unit to plan hiring and contractor needs.

How it runs

A week in Resource Planner

  1. 1Monday load check
Resource managers open the heatmap. Amber cells show who is overloaded and which projects caused it.
  2. 2Find the right person
Skill search lists people with matching skills and free hours, including those on the bench.
  3. 3Test the move
A what-if move shows the effect on both projects: one go-live comes back on track, the other stays within its buffer.
  4. 4Book and tell
The booking is saved and the person and both project leads are notified. Timesheets pick up the new project automatically.

Driven by project health

Move people where the risk is.

AI Project Health shows which projects are slipping because of load. Resource Planner shows who can help. Together they turn a late-night escalation into a Monday decision.

  • Suggested people ranked by skills and free time
  • Projects that are ahead can safely lend people
  • Every move is recorded with its reason
